Which Bowlers Will Take The Most Wickets

303. Postcard from Netherlands

Amsterdam Canal Houses

Netherlands is known for its unique architecture, which was the best example are the houses along the canals of Amsterdam. In a country where land is precious, people were able to manage every available space. Many houses were built in the seventeenth century and most of them have less than 30 meters wide. Stairwells in these homes are often too narrow and steep to pay to top furniture or goods. The solution to this problem was mounting hooks (shown on the postcard) protruding from the tops of which were used for pulling heavy loads on the upper floors.
